3 types of fried chicken | Chicken fry recipesNowadays as lockdown is going on, we all crave something tasty, and especially foodies like us are horribly missing KFC and Dominoes. So suddenly I had an idea that why don't we make a version of fried chicken at home.
However KFC, dominos are still delivering food at home but my parents do not allow me to eat any outside foods, which is quite fair cause we don't know whether it's good or bad and when it comes to social distancing, we shouldn't order food from outside nowadays.
I always wanted to prepare it at home, but because of my laziness I always end up ordering it from outside, but now it's time when we have so much free time, let's make it at home.

And not just one recipe today I came with three types of Fried Chicken recipe which are extremely delicious, so let's start. Read all the recipes and do not skip the last one cause it's the most unique one and my favorite also.

We all may wonder how KFC makes so much delicious chicken. The recipe they have that's totally secret, but the recipe which we have is also very delicious and it's quite easy too. This Fried Chicken recipe a little bit time consuming but that's nothing in front of its deliciousness. You just need to follow some little tips and you can make it too.

I will share all the tips with you, to prepare perfect KFC style fried chicken the recipe with step by step instructions. I've also given the ingredients with the proper quantities. just follow the steps properly and enjoy your tasty fried chicken.


Exact time to prepare fried chicken:-

Marination :- 1 hour
Preparation :- 10 minutes
Cook :- 20-25 minutes
Total :- 1 hr 30 minutes
Serve:- 4-5 person



Ingredients:-


For Marination:-

1. Chicken 500 g ( 4-5 drumsticks or fillets)
2. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
3. Light soya sauce 1 tsp
4. Fish sauce ½ tsp
5. Red chilli powder ½ tsp
6. Salt to taste
7. Black pepper powder ½ tsp
8. Mixed herbs ½ tsp

Milk mixture:-

1. Buttermilk ½ cup
2. 1 egg (large)

Maida/ flour mixture:-

1. All-purpose flour/ maida 2 cup
2. Corn flour ¼ cup
3. Paprika ½ tsp
4. Red chilli powder ½ tsp
5. Black pepper powder ½ tsp
6. Salt to taste




Some tips:-

1. You should always use chicken pieces with skin because it helps to hold all the batter-coated on it. You can make little cuts into the pieces to allow the marination to go inside of the chicken through the cuts.

chicken as we don't know about it, we will use mixed herbs, you can buy it from any supermarket easily.

3. When adding seasoning into the marination do not add too much salt, cause we have use soya sauce and fish sauce here and both of that have salt in it. You can add ½ tsp salt for 500 g chicken.

4. The chicken pieces should be marinated well for at least 1 hour, but I prefer to marinate it overnight so that it can soak the spices well. If you marinate it overnight then keep it in the fridge, but not in the deep fridge.

5. You should always do the marination using your hands, which helps the spices mix properly with the chicken.

6. As am using just maida for the costing of the chickens, but you can add corn flakes or oats to make the outside more crispy and it's a healthier option to not use only maida or flour.

7. You need to use full cream milk or buttermilk for the batter of the chicken, which makes it more delicious, and the chicken always need to deep-fry, cause otherwise, the chicken won't cook properly.

8. For deep frying the chicken first preheat the oil on a high flame for at least 5 minutes, to check the temperature you can put a toothpick into the oil, it some bubbles are arising around it then the oil is properly hot.

Marination-

• Add chicken pieces into a bowl, then add ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp soya sauce, ½ tsp fish sauce, 1 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper powder, ½ tsp mixed herbs. Mix everything well, using your hands, to help the spices go inside the chicken, and keep aside for at least one hour.

Milk mixture-

• Adding milk in the recipe is an important part of the double coating of the chicken to make it as similar as KFC fried chicken. Add ½ cup of Buttermilk into a bowl and add 1 beaten egg with it and mix well. If you don't have buttermilk then you can use whole fat milk and use 1 tsp of white vinegar in it. It can make your own buttermilk. No need to use any seasoning in the milk mixture.

Maida or flour mixture-

• Add 2 cup refined Maida or all-purpose flour in a bowl, add ¼ cup of cornflour, red chili powder ½ tsp, black pepper powder ½ tsp, paprika ½ tsp, and some salt to taste. You can add more or less chili powder, depends how much spicy you want it, and if you don't have paprika you can skip adding it.

• Now mix everything well with the maida or flour using a hand whisk or a spoon, no lumps should be there in the flour.

Coating-

• Now it's time to double coat the chicken pieces with the batter for that take one piece of chicken and add it into the flour mixture, now using your hands coat it with maida properly, press the flour on to piece of chicken. Then add the piece into the milk mixture and properly coat the milk all over on it. Then again add it into the flour mixture and coat with flour.

• That's how the double coating is done. Do the same process with all the chicken pieces and then it's ready to deep fry.

For frying-

• You need to preheat some oil for the deep frying into a pan when it's heating up and start boiling add the coated chicken into it. The oil should be on a high flame when you adding the chicken, which would make the outside crispier. Then fry it on a medium-low flame for 10 min, allow it to cook properly from the inside also.

• After frying for 10 minutes on a medium-low flame when the outside is nice and golden, your fried chicken is ready to serve. Serve it with some ketchup or tomato sauce, or some mayonnaise, it would be extremely delicious.

The one is also very famous and yummy, chicken popcorn. These are easily available at KFC or any other restaurant. These are little bite-size pieces of fried chicken, and for its small size, these are called popcorn chicken.

It's quite similar to the fried chicken but as it's small in size boneless chicken is used here. And the chicken pieces should be very tender and juicy for that you need to follow some tips, which am gonna give here, and I'll also give step by step instructions with all the ingredients with the quantities.

Kids really like these popcorn chicken and it can impress anyone as it's very yummy. And homemade foods are always a healthier option. To make it yummier you can include your favorite spices that can suit your taste buds. It can be a nice evening snack to have with your family and kids.

2. Red chilli powder 1 tsp
3. Garlic Powder ½ tsp
4. Salt to taste
5. White vinegar 1 tsp
6. Red chilli sauce 1 tsp
7. Butter Milk ¼ cup

For Batter-

1. All-purpose flour/maida 1 cup
2. Corn flour ½ cup
3. Salt ½ tsp
4. Garlic Powder ½ tsp
5. Black pepper powder ½ tsp
6. Red chilli powder ½ tsp


Some Tips:-

1. For boneless chicken always use the breast part of the chicken and cut it into small cubes.

2. Here you can also marinate the chicken for overnight it always helps to make it More flavour full, and if you don't have that much time at least one hour of marination is needed.

3. You can use bread crumbs or corn flakes to make it more crunchy and healthy. You can also bake it instead of trying it to make it healthier.

4. You can use any spices you like, always use raw milk for the marination. You can add mixed herbs here, I keep the recipe as simple as possible that's why I didn't use it. Bit if you want just to go ahead and add what you like.

temperature otherwise it doesn't get that much tender and juicy from inside. For Popcorn chicken as the chicken pieces are small, it doesn't take that much time to cook, but you can follow the tips I have given in the previous recipe.

6. You can store this for later use, just coat the chicken pieces properly and then keep it in the freezer. It can be stored for 1-2 days.

Marination-

• Add small cubes of boneless chicken in a bowl, add 1 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp garlic powder, some salt to taste, 1 tsp of white vinegar, 1 tsp red chilli sauce, and ¼ cup milk. Now mix everything well using your hands or a spoon and leave for marination for at least 1 hour in the fridge.

Batter-

• Take a bowl to add 1 cup of all-purpose flour or maida in it, add ½ cup of cornflour, some salt to taste, ½ tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp black pepper powder, ½ tsp garlic powder and mix well with a hand whisk or a spoon.

Coating of the chicken-

• Now bring the marinated chicken in room temperature, then add the pieces into the flour mixture, add 3-4 pieces for once, and press the flour mixture on the pieces using hands.

• When all the pieces are properly coated with flour mixture, add a little bit of water in the remaining marination mixture of the chicken. Then add the flour-coated chicken pieces into the mixture and properly coat all over the chicken pieces.

• Then again add the pieces into the flour and double coat it with the flour mixture. When all the pieces are properly coated, remove excess flours by shaking, now it's ready to fry.

Frying:-

• You need to preheat some oil for the deep frying into a pan when it's heating up and start boiling add the coated chicken into it. The oil should be on a high flame when you adding the chicken, which would make the outside crispier.

• Then fry it on a medium-low flame for 5 min, allow it to cook properly from the inside also. As in popcorn chicken, the size of chicken pieces is smaller so it take less time to cook. And remember you shouldn't overcook it that spoils the juiciness of the chicken.

• When the chicken pieces are nice and golden your popcorn chicken is absolutely ready to eat. Serve it with some tomato ketchup or mayonnaise. It would be very delicious.

The 3rd one is maybe not that much famous as KFC fried chicken or as chicken popcorns but is the most favourite one of mine. Drums of heaven is an Indo- Chinese dish, which is typically chicken lollipops tossed in spicy schezwan sauce. Most of the time when I go to a Chinese restaurant I always order these as the starter.

The spicy sejwan sauce is the twist here which gives an awesome deliciousness to this Fried Chicken. I love this dish and it always impresses me, so when I decide to prepare it at home, I was really very excited about it.

For Marination-

1. Chicken drumsticks 500 g
2. Salt to taste
3. Black pepper powder ½ tsp
4. Soya sauce 1 tsp
5. Green chilli sauce 2 tsp
6. Red chilli sauce 2 tsp
7. Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
8. Egg white 1

For Gravy-

1. Chopped onions 1( medium size)
2. Chopped ginger 1 tsp
3. Chopped garlic 1 tsp (4-5 cloves)
4. Chopped green onions
5. Black pepper powder ½ tsp
6. Suger ½ tsp
7. Salt 1 tsp
8. Red chilli sauce 4 tsp
9. Tomato sauce/ ketchup 1 tsp
10. Dark soya sauce 2 tsp


For frying:-

1. Maida or all-purpose flour 4 tsp
2. Corn flour 2 tsp
3. Oil


Some Tips:-

lollipop you need to first cut them properly. First of all the chicken pieces should be with skin. So if you have the drumsticks cut the skin and muscle from the joint, clean the joint and free the bone.

2. Then push the meat upside down to free all the meat from the bone. When the bone is totally clean, turn the meat inside out by using your hands, just push the meat. Then the lollipops are ready to cook.

3. For the gravy shop the ginger garlic and green onions very thinly, and as it's a spicy dish use can control the spiciness according to you. I have given all the quantities as per I use.

4. As this recipe doesn't have that much coating as the previous ones, so it requires less time to cook. You can cook it on a medium-low flame for 6-8 minutes and that's enough.

For Marination-

• Add 1 tsp light soya sauce into a bowl, add 2 tsp red chilli sauce, 2 tsp green chilli sauce, ½ tsp black pepper powder, some salt to taste, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste, 1 beaten egg white, then mix everything well. Then add the chicken drumsticks and don't forget to cut as per my instructions. Now marinate the chicken properly with the mixture using your hands. And leave aside for 30 minutes.

For frying-

• After 30 minutes when the drumsticks are properly marinated add 2 tsp cornflour and 4 tsp maida in it and mix well with the chicken.

• Now take a pan and add some oil for deep fry the chicken, when the oil heats up add the chicken pieces into the oil. You need to cook the chicken pieces on a medium-low flame for 7-8 minutes.

• When the outside is getting golden, remove it from the oil and Don't forget to strain the oil properly. You can fry 3-4 drumsticks at once, but it depends on the size of the pan you are using.

Chicken Patiala is one of the famous cuisines of Punjab. It's also called Murg Patiala, it's an Indian chicken recipe and a delicious gravy chicken. It's loaded with fragrant spices and creamy gravy.
I have given the step-by-step instructions here with the ingredients and quantities, if you will follow the steps properly then for sure you would love it.

For the gravy:-

• Add 1 tsp oil in a pan, when the oil heats up add 1 finely chopped onion and stir well, then add chopped ginger and chopped garlic both 1 tsp and again stir well for 1 minute. Now add ½ tsp of sugar and ½ tsp black pepper powder in it and mix well.

• Now take a small bowl and add 4 tsp of red chilli sauce, 2 tsp of dark soya sauce and 1 tsp of tomato sauce and mix well using a spoon. Now add this sauce mixture into the pan, along with 4 tsp chicken stock. If you don't have the chicken stock you can use normal water also. Mix well and 1 tsp salt.

• Now give it a nice mix and your gravy is ready. New the main part, add those fried chickens in it and give it a toss so that the gravy can cover all over the chicken pieces. And with this, your drums of heaven is ready to serve. Garnish it with chopped green onions.

It really tastes heavenly. Don't forget to try this at home. No dipping sauce is needed for it as it has its own spicy gravy. Enjoy it with your family and share your experience with us.
