Bread pakora-


It's delicious and famous street food, especially in North India, you can found it all over at Mumbai streets. It's a good option for tea time snack, or you can serve it as a party snack. It's very crispy and stuffed with yummy potato filling, the bread slices are stuffed with spiced mashed potato then coated with chickpea flour or gram flour batter and then deep-fried in oil. It can be Pan-fried also, the reason why it is a deep-fried cause if you will pan fry it will Soak much more oil, the bread pakora is served with any chutney or ketchup.


 

Bread pakora can be made in two different types-


Mashed potatoes

Bread pakora without feeling:-

If you want to make bread pakora without stuffing of mashed potato then it will be really very easy. You just need to skip the feeling part. Just at the bread slices in the besan or chickpea flour batter, and then deep fry into coil until it gets crispy then your without feeling bread pakora is ready the bad besan batter recipe described below in steps, with ingredients. it's a good option to make a quick snack which you can serve hot with tea or at weekends and enjoy with your family.

Two types of bread are there. One is made with the help of yeast. Another one is flat-bread is made by dough of water and flour. It becomes white bread and brown bread according to its way of preparation and ingredients, that are used to prepare the bread. You can use white bread slices as well as brown bread also if you will use brown bread, it will be a healthier option but any kind of bread can be used, you can cut the bread slices into triangular shape or square-shaped it depends on your choice, which shape you will like you can use.



Potatoes you can use-

Any type of potatoes you can use for bread pakora if you are taking big sizes of potatoes then 2-4 potatoes are enough for 10 slices of bread. And if you are using medium size potatoes then you can take 4-6, it absolutely depends on how much quantity you are making.

To boil the potatoes first clean them properly and then add into a pressure cooker with two cups of water then cook it in a medium-low flame until 2-3 whistles then open the pressure cooker and your boil potatoes are ready, then peel the skin of it and use it for making the filling of the bread pako

Ingredients-

1. Bread:- (6-8 slices)
2. Besan/ chickpea flour :- 1 cup
3. Ajwain/ carom seeds:- ½tsp
4. Salt:- 1 tsp
5. Turmeric powder:- ½ tsp
6. Red chili powder:- ½ tsp
7. Baking soda:- 2 pinch
8. Rice flour:- 4 tsp
9. Potato:- 3-4 (boiled)
10. Onion:- 1 chopped
11. Green chilies:- 2-3 chopped
12. Coriander leaves:- ½ cup chopped
13. Amchur/ dried powdered raw mango:- ½ tsp
14. Cumin powder:- ½ tsp
15. Black pepper powder:- ½ tsp
16. Ketchup:- 4 tsp

Preparation-


Total time requires to cook: 15 to 20 minutes approx (This Time will depend on how many bread pakora will be made


1. Besan/chickpea flour batter:-


Add 1 cup of besan or chickpea flour in a bowl, add half teaspoon of ajwain, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chili powder, 2 pinches of baking soda, 3-4 tsp of rice flour, you can skip using the rice flour it is used especially to make the bread pakoras more crispy when it is deep-fried. Then mix all ingredients properly and then at water accordingly to keep a thick consistency in your better it should not be too thick or too much liquidy.

2. Potato filling:-


Add 2-4 boiled potatoes in a bowl, peel off the skin, and mash it by using a spoon. then add salt to taste, ½ tsp red chili powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp amchur, ½ tsp black pepper powder, 1 chopped onion, chopped green chilies, and chopped coriander leaves. Then it makes everything well with the mashed potato.

3. Bread slices:-


Triangular Shaped BreadTake 2 bread slices, if you want you can cut the edges of the bread or can leave it, it depends on your choice. Then add some ketchup on both of the bread slices you can add any green chutney as well, then place the mashed potato filling on one bread, and add another bread slice on top of it and make a sandwich. Cut the bread in a triangular shape the bread pakora is usually triangular, it depends on your choice. Then coated the sandwiches with the besan batter properly.

4. Step four:  

Take a pan to add some oil in it ( how much oil is required to deep fry your bread pakoras), you can pan fry or deep fry your pakoras it depends on you but if it would be deeply fried it would Soak less amount of oil when the oil heats up add the batter coated slices of bread into it and fry until it gets crispy, it will take 2-3 minutes for each and when it gets golden, and crispy take them out from the pan and your yummy bread pakoras are ready to serve.
